Because of the high incidence of staphylococcal isolates resistant to penicillin G both within and outside the hospiral environment . Orbenil is recommended as initial therapy in patients with suspected staphylococcal infections. Orebenil is also effective in the treatment of other commonly encountered Gram-positive coccal infections.Typical indications include: - respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and sinusitis - infected wounds and burns - osteomyelitis and septic arthritis - other infections due to staphylococci (including penicillin-resistant strains) such as septicemia endocarditis enterocolitis and urinary tract infections.
